Universal Health Coverage and the Global Workforce Crisis
Even before the advent of coronavirus the world was facing a crisis in its healthcare workforce with predictions of a shortage of 30 million healthcare workers globally by 2030. Now, after a year of lockdowns and a global pandemic our healthcare workforce is exhausted and demoralised, what does this mean in terms of the crisis and where does it leave our ambition for global, universal health coverage.
