She launched World Healthcare Journal for Dorson West, and prior to this she created the Global Opportunity series of publications including GO Healthcare which were distributed globally. She has an MA in Modern History from the University of Oxford.

Steve Gardner

Managing Director

Following on from a long career in media and publishing during which he has created a diverse range of consumer and business to business publications, Steve has been a specialist in the development of opportunities in the international healthcare space since 2010. As well as creating the acclaimed Global Opportunity series of international business publications, Steve helped created Healthcare UK’s supplier engagement programme in 2017 and has worked extensively in the Middle East, Indian, South American and African markets.

Emma Sheldon MBE

CCO and Director of Consultancy

Over the past 20 years, Emma has built businesses internationally and led cross-functional teams in marketing, sales, operations and research and development and has led M&A activity. Emma now works as a consultant, with recent projects including the development of an international commercialisation strategy designed specifically for International Healthcare and helping business owners to best prepare for growth, and then to realise their growth ambitions. She achieved her Global Executive MBA from Manchester Business School in 2016 and was awarded her MBE for Services to Exporting in 2018.

Simon Swift

Data Correspondent

Simon is the Managing Director of Methods Analytics, a data science and AI business with a healthcare specialism. He is focused on improving the use of information so decisions are based on evidence rather than anecdote and whim. Simon leads the business and supports product development and consulting projects with a thorough understanding of the possibilities of modern data science methodologies.

Barry Francis

Infrastructure Correspondent

Barry Francis has in depth experience in supporting infrastructure and other commercial transactions in healthcare in many countries. As a partner in international law firms, he led teams advising on the structuring, negotiation and delivery of financial and other commercial transactions. His roles now include providing specialist infrastructure support to the healthcare and life sciences cluster at the UK’s Department for International Trade.

Mike Hobbs

Mike has over 10 years’ experience working in the NHS before working for the last 15 years in the private sector. His NHS experience included operational responsibility for a range of clinical services through to participating in whole health economy strategic service reviews and reconfigurations. While in the NHS he worked on one of the first acute hospital PPP health projects in England.

Scarlett Windmill-Last

Health Correspondent

Scarlett’s professional career started in communications for both the public and private sectors throughout the UK and France. In 2019, Scarlett moved back to London and into healthcare journalism, where she developed a keen understanding of feature writing, reporting and event coverage within the sector.

Currently studying an MA in International Affairs, Scarlett has nurtured an interest in legal research and is now involved in development projects across Africa.

Fabian Sutch-Daggett is the Website Editor for Healthcare World. Prior to this he was Features Editor at the World Healthcare Journal. Previously working with Bristol 24/7 as a newswriter, Fabian covers new developments in the healthcare and lifesciences sectors.

Emma Williams

Operations Manager

Emma is an Operations Manager at Healthcare World, looking after company processes alongside the day to day running of our website. She also manages the highly successful Healthcare World Series webinars, which have attracted over 50,000 viewers since its opening in May 2021. Having graduated in 2020 from Newcastle University, Emma has undertaken work experience in both the UK and in Germany, and spent a year studying Economics, Management and Social Sciences at the University of Cologne.

Sophia Kurz

Sophia Kurz is a Features Writer and covers US Healthcare among other topics for Healthcare World. She is a journalism student at the University of Austin, Texas, and was previously Features Writer at World Healthcare Journal, based in London.
